Making Illinois More Fiscally Responsible

Working with Republicans and Democrats, Sam passed a budget package that holds the line on taxes and spending, and creates a surplus to help pay down old bills. He worked to cut government waste and bureaucracy in order to invest in our schools and reverse Springfield politicians' extreme cuts to health care, lifesaving breast cancer screenings, senior care and domestic violence shelters.

Sam knows our middle-class families can’t afford to pay more to fund waste, dysfunction and corruption in Springfield. He said no to Springfield’s tax increase, and is fighting to cut wasteful spending.
